Digital Voice Recorder?

Will taking out the batteries of a Sony digital voice recorder for approx. 7 days cause the recorded data to be lost forever?
It’s a IC RECORDER ICD-B600 MODEL.

i was told the batteries are the memory for a digital voice recorder so i’m a little confused. i took out the batteries for safety reasons and was told i lost all 50 tracks of what i recorded.
still hopeful though?

I have two digital voice recorders and they retain the audio even if the batteries were dead. I misplaced one voice recorder for three years and the batteries were completely dead. I put in new batteries and everything I had recorded was still there in perfect condition. The recorder is just a small hard drive so it won’t lose the data on it. I am reasonably sure your recorder is designed the same way. I hope this helps.
