What to buy: Nikon Coolpix P90 or X90 Pentax Optio?

I will be taking photography in college at the end of this year and wondered what was best for use, the Nikon Coolpix P90 or X90 Pentax Optio. I've looked at reviews for each camera on several different websites, but I'm not sure that it is best to take clear pictures even when zooming close I'm not looking for anything rather than bought, just that it's better to leave them. Although I have two DSLR, I still use Optio my age and get excellent results with it. I've never had any problems with it either. Well built too.
