How do I use firewire to take footage off my mini dv video camera?
I bought a mini dv video camera, and it has both a USB and firewire jack on it. When I connect USB, I can only take off the still pictures I took on the camera, and was told I need a IE 1394 (firewire) cable. So i went out and bought one, and when I hook it up to my camera and laptop…..nothing happens. What do I need to do? What setting should the camera be on? What am I doing wrong?? Thanks

i have a jvc mini dv and used firewire (4 pin to 4 pin) to my desktop and it worked at first try.
use firewire – 4 pin or 6 pin whatever is required
